Kayaking with Candace
Uribag, there when you need us.
Bev had tried kayaking at her very best friends insistence and together they spent a glorious summer learning from an experienced Candace while exploring the west shore of Kootenay Lake.
Today, on their last kayaking adventure of the year Bev, now with several months of experience agreed to cross the open waters of the lake to the east shore. She was a little nervous as was her nature but Candace assured her that her kayaking skills would readily handle any challenge. Until…
Approaching halfway across the lake, the large very berry herbal tea with two honey let Bev know it was time to pee but she ignored it. A little further than halfway she looked at Candace and said “l need to pee, really bad”
Although peeing in your boat or in a sponge are options one can also raft two kayaks together with the help of a good friend, place one foot in each cockpit, squat and relieve ones self.
A solid, lengthy friendship endures many things and this event was laughed about for many years but Candace, who had kept one in her life vest pocket for years made sure to give Bev a Uribag for her birthday. Candace wouldn’t always be there.
Uribag – there when you need us.
